HAIR RESTORATION

HAIR RESTORATION WITH PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP) THERAPY

Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP, is the latest treatment to hit the hair loss market and is showing impressive results, even better if combined with Adult Adipose (fat) Stem Cell Therapy or ACell Technology. Hair loss is a prime concern for many men and women these days. Whether it is genetic, due to stress, bad hair care or any medical condition – hair loss is a prime concern for many men and women these days.

PRP Hair Restoration is suitable for both men and women. It is a state of the art, natural, non-surgical alternative medical procedure used for the treatment of hair loss or hair thinning. It is an injectable treatment which uses the patient’s own blood.

With a thin needle, your Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is injected into the scalp. Then the growth factors in your blood cells do their job and hair growth is naturally stimulated. Also can be used in conjunction with medications such as, Minoxidil and/or Finasteride.

WHAT IS PRP?

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) therapy is gaining in popularity as “the blood injection of miracle.” PRP contains several different growth factors and other cytokines which may elicit gathering of stem cells around the damaged region stimulating cellular proliferation and tissue regeneration. Since the patient uses his or her own blood for the collection of platelets, there is minimal or no risk of infection or other side effects and no allergy. Blood is drawn in an exam room in the presence of the patient.

The procedure involves drawing out one’s own blood and centrifuging it in our state of the art centrifuge, so that the plasma with platelets collects in the tube. This plasma rich in platelets and growth factors is very useful in tissue regeneration and healing. It is then injected on the scalp and/or rubbed on the scalp after performing a derma roller or derma Pen treatment in the areas which suffer from hair loss.

USES OF PRP

PRP is great for the correction of:

WHO SHOULD HAVE PRP?

People who have thinning hair, and those with androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness – hair loss at the top of the scalp and a receding hairline particularly along the temples), women with male pattern alopecia can all benefit from it.

The treatment requires about eight sittings, each two weeks apart for best results if using SINGLE spin centrifuge, or 1-2 treatments about 3-6 months apart in first year if using DOUBLE spin centrifuge.

Along with it, one may have to take medications like minoxidil and /or Finasteride propercia. Your doctor may also alternate between stem cell therapy and PRP as combination treatments have shown to provide good results. Adding ACell Technology has also shown to be improve the results.

EXPECTED RESULTS

Patients will soon see a fuzz of hair after the fourth sitting if using single spin centrifuge. The treatment not only promotes hair growth but also strengthens hair follicles. It is quite a safe procedure without any side-effects. Since it involves drawing out blood and multiple needle pricks, it may seem uncomfortable and scary but a numbing cream is used prior to the procedure to reduce the discomfort.

If using double spin centrifuge, more than one session may be needed to obtain the desired result, even better & faster results with fewer sessions can be achieved when PRP is combined with ACell technology/Adult Adipose (fat) Stem Cells.

HOW IS THE TREATMENT DONE?

After the concentration of the PRP, practitioners must choose to either apply the PRP directly to scalp after micro-needling or inject small amounts at multiple locations. The practitioner may decide to do both. The PRP then stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of stem cells in the hair follicle.

POSSIBLE COMBINATION TREATMENTS FOR HAIR LOSS

Evenbetter is the result achieved when PRPis combined withACell Technology or Adult Adipose (fat) Stem Cells . And this better result is achievable with fewer treatments, as few as 1 treatment per year for women and 2 treatments per year for men. Women respond faster/better than men to PRP Therapy for Hair Loss treatment.

Also usingLow Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has been proven to promote hair growth in males and females but women have responded better.

PRP can be used alone or in conjunction with LLLT . Someone with advanced hair loss who is "shiny bald" and those with autoimmune disorders are not good candidates.A high patient satisfaction rate can be achieved when PRP for Hair Loss is used in combination with other modalities or therapies.

WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS TREATMENT?

PRP is contraindicated in:

WHO CANT'T OPT FOR PRP?

Though PRP treatment yields great results for people suffering from hair loss, it’s not for everyone. People who have lost all hair cannot undergo this treatment as it does not help grow new hair on a bald patch. It can only make the existing thinning hair thicker by strengthening the hair follicles.
